Questions
Is it really free?
Yes. Without an account you can convert 3,000 characters a day, and a free account gets 10,000. Every result can be downloaded as an MP3.
Can it read a whole PDF or book?
Yes. Long files are split into parts and converted a few at a time, then joined into one MP3. On the free plans each conversion can be up to 10,000 characters; longer books need Pro.
Are my files uploaded?
Files are opened in your browser. Only the text is sent when you press Read it aloud, so the file itself never leaves your device.
Which languages are supported?
English and Spanish today, with several natural voices each. More languages are on the way.
Does it work on scanned pages?
Not yet. The converter reads text that can be selected. Scanned pages and photos of text are coming later.
